There’s something about the charm of a southern girl getting married to a southern boy. This beautiful moment was on the steps of the Nottoway Resort in Louisiana, located in the middle of nowhere on the Mississippi River somewhere between Baton Rouge and New Orleans. The dress was fresh from New York’s runway and the custom bouquet a beautiful treat to be adored and admired. Everything that went into this moment–all the vendors, all the energy, time and love– was pure joy.
Every bride needs a little lace in her life. Introducing the gorgeous Rozzi in all her beautiful bride wonderment rocking House of Elliot boots in the bridal suite at Lionsgate Event Center in Lafayette, Colorado.
You know me and fancy feet, and these beautiful lace boots are right up my alley. (Any boots really, but these take the cake!) Making an appearance for a bridal boudoir shoot at the Lionsgate Event Center in Lafayette, Colorado put on by Flower & Ivy, I just couldn’t get enough of these gorgeous gams in lace. Lace ’em up hot stuff, any bride would be lucky to sport these beauties by House of Elliot on their wedding day.
In a world where things are rushed and everything is going mach-2, slowing down to catch the details is one of my favorite parts about shooting a wedding. I live for the emotion captured between two couples and one of my favorite sayings at parties is, “I shoot people,” but there’s just something that makes my heart happy in taking notice of the finer things in life.
During an elopement beneath the cliffs of the Arbor House Inn B&B I stopped the shoot and stared straight at the bride. I smiled at her and said, “You’ve been holding out on me.” I pointed to her ring finger and grinned. I had already taken all my detail shots before the ceremony that include the rings, shoes, flowers, invitations and other details, but as I looked at the bride’s hand before me now I realized she had only given me the wedding band and not the actual engagement ring with the blingy stone. She sheepishly grinned and admitted she didn’t like taking it off. I laughed as I teased her,”I understand that gorgeous rock is difficult to part with, but why on earth would you not want THAT in your wedding photos?! Hand it over, sister.” And so I embarked on a re-shoot, this time with the full set of bling.
